During last week’s launch of Paano Ba ‘To?! How to Survive Growing Up, we congratulated Bianca Gonzalez on her first published book and her upcoming wedding to basketball player JC Intal. Back then, we thought she’d have over a week to go before tying the knot. So like the rest of the country, we were definitely surprised when we learned that they’d taken off for an intimate ceremony in beautiful El Nido, Palawan, on December 4—days before their announced wedding date on the 10th.
After JC’s very public proposal to Bianca at the NAIA airport earlier this year, maybe it’s fitting that the celebrity couple said their vows surrounded by only the closest of their friends and family. Of course, just as their proposal video went viral shortly after the event took place, it didn’t take long for news of their surprise wedding to make its rounds on social media. We saw several photos of the ceremony on Instagram, and we loved how laid-back the vibe was—and how Bianca did her own makeup and rocked a gorgeous orchid headpiece!
Before Bianca officially became Mrs. Intal, we asked her about the traits that modern Filipinas should look for in their potential life partner. Although she acknowledged that we all have our own tastes, she shared two things that she believes are essential:
“One, a person that makes you laugh is very important. Kasi that means you connect emotionally and intellectually sa punch line. And we all need that in life. ‘Di ba nakaka-stress lahat, kailangan someone na nakaka-gaan ng pakiramdam,” Bianca said. “And second is [either] how he treats his mom or his sisters. It’s very telling of how a man is. And when I was getting to know my soon-to-be husband, grabe ‘yung love niya for his mom and the way he treats her. Alam mong marunong rumespeto ng babae, and you know na he’ll also treat you well.”
