Planning to build your own lipstick collection but don’t know which shade should you start with? Get your lipstick inspiration from showbiz It Girl Anne Curtis–we totally love how she rocks different shades, which she generously showcases on her Instagram account. Here are five lipstick shades that ever Pinay should have in her kikay kit:
1. Nude
This shade is perfect for everyday wear, with its “safe” hues. You can also go for this shade when you’re rocking really fab smoky eyes, and you want all the focus on your peepers. Just as we mentioned in our previous article, go for nude shades that are at least two tones darker or lighten than your skin tone, so you won’t look washed out.
2. Pink
Don’t be scared to try out pink lippies! Go for soft pinks to add a sweet, feminine touch to your look. If you’re feeling adventurous, go for bright pinks for a pop of color.
a. Soft Pink
b. Bright Pink
3. Plum
We tend to shy away from this shade for fear that it might be too adventurous, but that is far from the truth. Plums look good on any skin type, so better make this a kikay kit staple.
4. Orange
Looking for an alternative to red lipstick? Why not go for orange instead? Just like plum, oranges look good on virtually anybody. There are lots of shades to choose from, and we’re sure there’s one that’s just perfect for you!
5. Red
Ah, the classic. Every Pinay–or every girl, for that matter–should own this flattering shade. Dark reds, just like the ones that Anne is rocking below, are perfect for the -ber months, what with the gloomy weather and all–and they look fabulously vampy. Cherry reds, with their blue undertones, look great on cool skin tones (i.e., mestizas).
a. Dark Red/Maroon Red
b. Cherry Red
