The hot days might have you suffering in the city, but they also mean you can finally rule the shores in your perfect swimsuit. But before you head on to that beach, get your body ready. Those banging curves and toned arms don’t just appear spontaneously. And while you do have to work for that beach-ready bod, who says you can’t achieve that while having fun? We’ve listed a few sporty activities you can enjoy while getting toned.
1. Surfing
Want to get stoked at the feel of you riding that rushing wave. Then, go ahead and try surfing. If you want a quick lesson right here in the metro, contact Philippine Surfing Academy by calling (+632) 631-2805, (+632) 217 2735, or (+63917) 894-6767 or by visiting their website at www.philippinesurfingacademy.com.
Want to plan a road trip? Head on to Baler or La Union. There are buses that travel to these destinations, and travel agencies that plan tours complete with an hour of surfing lessons. Contact Christine of GAFA Travel and Tours at (+63917)-809-8857 for more information.
2. Flying Trapeze
Ever dreamed of flying? Well, let’s make that a reality—or at least a part of it. Be suspended in mid-air at the same time working on those biceps by trying this alternative form of exercise. Flying Trapeze Philippines is located at 34th St. cor 9th Ave., 34th St, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila. For more information contact (+63917) 242-0331 or visit www.trapeze.ph.
3. Ultimate Frisbee
Even though the first thing you might have heard about this sport is that Derek Ramsay is a fan, Ultimate Frisbee has gained a following here in the country with even set matches and tournaments scheduled. Activities such as running, receiving, and, of course, throwing that Frisbee are a great way to exercise. Sign up, and who knows? You might score your own hottie.
For information contact Sarah Salvio at (+63949) 994-4866 or visit the Sunken Pleasure Facebook fan page.
4. Cycling
Whether it’s done around the metro or in the province, going for a ride in your bicycle can be both calming and physically challenging. This activity isn’t part of the Ironman triathlon for nothing. Don’t have a bicycle? No problem, go to Quezon Memorial Circle, where they rent out bikes at an hourly rate or at F. Ortigas Avenue (formerly Emerald Avenue), where the whole street is turned into a bike path complete with rentals every Sunday.
