It’s High Time You Love Your Flaws–Here’s How

You might think that it’s hard to love your big thighs, skinny frame, or your weight. But the thing is, we all have flaws. Even supermodels aren’t perfect–remember Chrissy Teigen’s famous stretch mark snapshot? And just like Chrissy, we should all accept and even revel in our imperfections. Of course, it doesn’t happen overnight. But here are five things to help you get started:

1. Acknowledge them.

The first thing to do for every transformation and growth is get real and be true. Don’t be in denial. Accept yourself–both your strengths and your weaknesses–and realize that they’re all part of you. Nothing’s more admirable than a woman who has fully embraced herself for who she really is.

2. Appreciate your individuality.

Your flaws make you unique and stand out from anybody else. You may not like them, but those big thighs are a plus! Think Shakira, Beyonce, JLo, and Serena Williams are just a few examples of women who are confident in their skin. Besides, we can be too hard on ourselves sometimes that we end up magnifying what we think are our “flaws”–when they’re actually not!

3. Ditch the unkind words.

You owe it to yourself to be kind. Stop highlighting things that you don’t like about yourself. Don’t be too harsh on yourself, and never ever compare yourself with other people as well.

4. See yourself in a different light.

Let go of destructive old thought patterns. Turn your fear into love instead. Be willing to improve yourself and take care of your body. Be willing to explore and try out new things. Lastly, be willing to love yourself.
