Poreless in the PH: Secrets to Picture (Almost) Perfect Skin

The Korean fever isn’t about to die down soon— everyone knows that.

Apart from the Kdrama and KPop phenomenon, our Asian neighbor also blessed us with A+ skincare products that target a common enemy: PORES.

If there’s anything I seriously envy Koreans, it’s their poreless skin. Their dewy and porcelain finished skin makes them look so polished, it’s ridiculously perfect. It reached a point when I asked myself: “What on earth do I have to do to get that skin?”

Some people insist it’s the weather in Korea: cold and relaxed—and apparently, that is their secret behind the poreless surfaces (combined with good skincare, of course).

Living in a tropical country that is the Philippines, that’s not an option for Modern Filipinas. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing we can do about it.

A poreless skin in the PH might require extra effort and money on your part, but it can be achieved. All you have to do is invest in the following:

Clean with a Good Cleanser

Clogged pores trigger the worst cases of whiteheads, blackheads, and skin infections. To keep these impurities at bay, it’s important to thoroughly clean your face.

After wiping all the makeup, start by scrubbing the face gently with lukewarm water and in circular motion. Scrub each part of the face, particularly the T-Zone and the cheeks. Once you’ve washed it all off, dab your face with a towel. Rubbing will only increase your chances for wrinkles.

Using the right cleanser also matters. It takes time and some trial and error, but when you find the right one, you will be #blessed.

Fall in Love with Charcoal

Activated charcoal is the newest scene stealer in the field of skincare. This ingredient is a popular hospital emergency room must-have for drug overdoses and alcohol poisoning. Why? Because it absorbs toxins first before your bloodstream can.

The running theory is it does the same thing to your skin. Like a magnet, it easily absorbs dirt and oil. It also tightens your pores; the detoxifying ingredient acts as a vacuum that spares you from pesky impurities. It also reduces the appearance of spots and inflammation, which gives you a smoother skin.

It seems crazy, but can ice really work wonders for your skin?

Plenty of beauty gurus claim it does.

Since the cold is good for your skin, why not introduce it in the form of ice cubes? Doing so will tighten your pores and also relax inflamed skin. All you have to do is throw in a few cubes, wrap them in a wash cloth, and rub the mix all over your face every day. Not only does it soothe your skin, it also gives that chill necessary for the tropical PH weather.

Blurring for the Perfect HD Skin

Blurring is a Korean makeup technique that does away with your need for IG filters. This technique also focuses on keeping the skin look fresh, dewy, and natural. It includes layers of moisturizers and special products to reduce signs of acne and pores, giving you a fresher and blurred look.
