Shawls and scarves should never be absent in your closet. You could use them to warm up during cold days or when you don’t have anything new to wear. Here are some of looks you can achieve with these fashion essentials:
1. Wraparound (Poncho style)
Nothing beats the comfort that shawls and scarves give, especially when you wear them as a wraparound! Wear them poncho-style whenever you need the extra warmth or you want to add variety to your outfit.
Drape the scarf or shawl on your shoulders, but make the other side longer. Drag the longer end on the other side or let them hang on your shoulders as is. Tie the ends or put safety pins to secure your shawl or scarf. Put buttons and button holes on the sides so you can easily turn your wrap into a poncho anytime.
2. Turn it into a Blouse or Coat
Do you know that you can make clothes out of a simple scarf and shawl? And you don’t even have to make stitches to achieve it! It’s possible to make a blouse or coat if you own a blanket scarf. Check out the tutorial below for ideas:
3. Go for Knots or Loops
Drape the shawl on your neck and hold both sides. Loop the longer side around your neck and make a knot using the other side. You may also make a triangle from your scarf and tie them on the back of your neck. Complete your look with sunglasses ,and you’re all set for your day or night out!
4. Cardigan style
You can make a cardigan out of your own wraps! Tie the ends plus the middle part together to make two holes. Put your hands in the holes and you have your very own cardigan.
If you have an infinity scarf, drape it on both shoulders and let the back part flow. Stuff the extra fabric at the sides to your back. You may also part it on equal sides then hang it as is. You will still look stylish either way.
5. Let it flow
Letting your shawls or scarves dangle is one of the best ways to stay stylish without putting in too much effort.
Just drape your shawl or scarf in a random manner over your shoulders. Crumple them a bit for special effects. Make a dress by adding a bit of loops and knots. Use your imagination.
There are many things you can do with a shawl or scarf, and these are just some of them. You don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe to become fashionable. All it takes is to get your creative juices flowing and use your wraps to turn your everyday look from drab to fab!
